Did someone say DISTANCE TRACK MEET?
Yes, you've heard it right!  The format of the race has been changed from road 5K to a distance track meet!

When is it?
Saturday August 7th.

Where is it?
At Los Angeles High School.

What are the events at the meet?
There will be five events.  They are, in race order:

Elite 5K Race:
The race for serious fast people!  If you are a man planning on running under 18 minutes and a woman planning on running under 25 minutes, this is your race!

Community 3 Mile Run:
Fun run for all runners and walkers!  Challenge yourself to 12 laps around the track!

Mile Run:
See how fast you can run 4 laps!

Last Man Standing 3 Mile Race:
Are you fast enough to be the "Last Man Standing"?
This is how it works: 25 runners toe the line for the 12 lap race.  At the end of each lap, runners will be eliminated from the race; runners in the last 3 positions in each of the first four laps, runners in the last 2 positions in each of the next four laps, the runner in the last position in each of the next three laps, and the last two runners remaining battle it out for the title of "Last Man Standing" in the final lap.
Entry to this race is limited to 25 runners on a first come first served basis and all levels welcome, but be forewarned... you could end up running just a lap if you get eliminated early!

Kiddie 400:
Free race for all kids!  One lap around the track!

Race time for the races:

Elite 5K Race:
7:10 AM

Community 3 Mile Run:
8:00 AM

Mile Run:
9:00 AM

Last Man Standing 3 Mile Race:
9:20 AM

Kiddie 400:
10:00 AM

Will there be prizes?
Yes!  There will be raffle drawings with fantastic prizes throughout the event, along with the following prizes for each race:

Elite 5K Race:
Prizes awarded to top three male and female finishers.

Community 3 Mile Run:
Prizes to the top finishers.

Mile Run:
Prizes awarded to the top three male and female finishers.

Last Man Standing 3 Mile Race:
Prizes awarded to the "Last Man Standing".

Kiddie 400:
Prizes to all participants.

Can I participate in multiple events?
Yes!  All you need to do is sign up for one event, and you can participate in other events as well.  Just make sure that you sign up under "Last Man Standing" if you are planning on doing it and something else, as "Last Man Standing" is capped off at 25 runners.

When can I pick up my race packet?
 Packets will also be available starting at 6:00 AM at the LA High School Track on the day of the race.

Were do I park?
There will be plenty of street parking around LA High School.

Shoe drive?
Bring your used running shoes and donate them to the school.
